Seriously, this book is SO GOOD. I’ve had it on my bookshelf since I was, like, 6 years old. Why didn’t I read it?
Combine a hilarious observational voice, a series of (sometimes) foolish and familiar characters, and a fresh magical idea, and you get half magic. Throw in some serious business about remarriage, taking too many things for granted, and how adults gain wisdom, and you get whole magic.
Seriously, this book is pure delight from beginning to end.
